full carbon frame
It all begins with an idea. Build a lighter, tougher fly reel that lowers effort and sharpens handling.
There is no substitute for the effect of mass when it comes to handling and longevity out on the river. Conflux uses a first in class co-molded carbon frame to create a lightweight and highly durable fly reel. The core of the frame is made from laser sintered Nylon 12 that is compression molded between structurally optimized layers of carbon. Tucked tightly into this core is a precision machined and hard anodized 6061 kingpost.

Conflux produces solid carbon spools using the same closed die compression molding process as the frame. We create the spools by hand, placing die-cut carbon layers into high precision molds. These layers are engineered for strength and durability.
Conflux spools are strong and light. They are designed to minimize startup inertia while providing remarkable impact resistance.

Precision sealed bearings
The Conflux Slash /78 utilizes large diameter stainless & ceramic sealed bearings to deliver smooth and reliable movement for the lifetime of the reel.
Bearing bores are machined in-house to ensure the accuracy and longevity of our reels.
dual disc drag
Dual CarbonTex drag pads are utilized with polished flanges all connected to a light action stainless one way bearing. This arrangement provides two surface areas to modulate drag force.
We use a factory applied grease for the silkiest, most modulated drag available while offering plenty of stopping power at higher settings.
The self extracting sealed hub design allows for reversing the retrieve direction with only one tool.
Ergonomic two finger drag dial
The design of the Slash /78 locates the drag dial where your hand already is.
The volume of access is carefully considered to allow fast and easy drag adjustment of the 12 position drag knob without any awkward repositioning.
Materials and coatings
The 2023 Conflux Slash /78 offers polished Grade 2 Titanium for each screw, to provide the best available corrosion resistance and strength.
All critical screws are thread locked from the factory for worry free operation.
The frame kingpin and reel seat are Type III hard anodized while all remaining components are Type II anodized.
